Atlanta 1996 Centennial Olympic Games
Opening Ceremony

In the summer of 1996, Don Mischer Productions created and produced the Opening
and Closing Ceremonies for the Centennial Olympic Games in Atlanta.

More than two years in pre-production on the concept
and design, the Opening and Closing Ceremonies had a cast of 8,000, a staff of 540, and a roster of 2,600 support volunteers.
Striving to create emotional moments, the event celebrated the American South, the tradition of the Olympic Games and the ideals of the Olympic movement.
Don won a primetime Emmy for his direction of the Opening Ceremonies.
